Queensland’s rural education advocacy group, the Isolated Children’s Parents Association Queensland (ICPA Qld) is campaigning for an increase in the Living Away From Home Allowance Scheme (LAFHAS).

The LAFHAS, administered by the Queensland Government, supports regional and remote families with the cost of a boarding school education.

Boarding school is often the only practical option for families who live large distances from the nearest secondary high school.

ICPA Qld have called on the Queensland Government to increase the LAFHAS by $4000 to assist families who are struggling with cost of living pressures.
