Giving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children every chance to reach their potential and achieve success is at the heart of a range of education scholarships, events, competitions and support programs offered by governments and charitable trusts.

The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) is a charitable trust that runs a Queensland Certificate of Education Scholarship Program to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students staying on to complete Years 11 and 12.

QATSIF funds successful schools which then provide scholarships to individual students. More than 300 Queensland secondary schools have administered scholarships to more than 8,700 students since the program’s inception in 2010.

The next round of scholarship applications open on 19 June 2019. Eligible parents and carers of students in Years 10 and 11 need to speak with their schools about applying for their child and what the scholarship funding covers | LEARN MORE
